Christie was busy studying with her law school mate (who is almost 20 years younger, by the way). and then Bonnie just fooled around in the kitchen making jokes distracting Christie and her mate's studying. Her mom's making noise made Christie angry more (as usual) but Bonnie didn't seem to care about her reactions.

Christie just complained how rude her mom was right after Bonnie left the kitchen. Her mate did have sympathy for her but told her it was nothing compared to the terrible mom on a podcast which was so popular among youngsters(Am I old?). The mate told her that the mom on the podcast could make Christie feel appreciate she does not have that awful mom.

On the way to the A.A meeting, Christie tried to listen to the podcast about the horrible mother. The voice out of the podcast sounded so similar. And then boom! she realized the voice was her daughter's, Violet. So Christie was the awful and horrible mother the mate talked about? Well,,,,yes!

Christie told her AA Friends that her daughter did a podcast about her past experience with her mom and spread all the terrible things Christie had done to the world! The friends and Christie got together in a car and started listening to what Violet said on the pod. Violet's voice was so sarcastic and sounded like enjoying the moments sharing with the some random listeners while Christie felt embarrassed. Christie even said she had to move!

Christie just listened to the stories on the Violet's podcast on a sofa, all day even though it doesn't give any good feelings for her. She was curious, though. She expected a little story about her good experience with Violet but the stories got worse. Bonnie snatched the earphones of her phone and asked her to call her. Christie said Violet changed the number but Bonnie said she had in contact with her which shocked Christie much more. Anyhow, Christie just wanted to make amends so just called her but it went straight to the voice mail. Christie left some messages and dumb blah blah things.

The next day, Violet played the messages on the podcast! Everybody in the law school finally knows who the terrible mom is (which is Christie).

So Christie decided to meet Violet in person and wanted to tell that she was so sorry for her past. Violet was surprised to see her and give her grandmother a side eye but let her mom in her apartment. Christie said she's changed she went to a law school while working as a waitress. She wanted to make up with her daughter, Violet.

Violet suggested to Christie that they should do the podcast together and let her talk on the pod. Violet said she's happy now that her mom is sober and restarts her life but didn't take her apologies. She said she missed out on her childhood because she had always cleaned her mom's mess and worried about her life while her friends enjoyed their childhood. She couldn't forgive Christie for that. And Christie couldn't say anything back to her daughter and left the apartment after Violet said she didn't want Christie in her life.

I feel sorry for both Violet and Christie. But I'm sure Violet will get back into Christie's arms in the future like Christie did to her mom. Christie had been (has still been) complaining about her mom and blamed her mom for all the failures like Violet does now. It's a circle. Like Bonnie becomes a new person to Christie, Violet will realize that her mom also had a miserable childhood but tries to become a different person. She will get to it. So wait for the day. Don't push her, Christie!
